About this tool
Cover sensitive information before you share a document. Draw boxes over the parts to hide, then apply. Marked pages are turned into images with the boxes burned in, so the hidden text cannot be recovered by selecting or searching. Your file never leaves your device.
How to use it
- Choose a PDF file.
- Drag on each page to draw boxes over what must be hidden. Use the arrows to move between pages.
- Click Apply redactions and download the result.
Frequently asked questions
Is the hidden text really removed?
Yes, on pages you mark. Those pages are re-rendered as images with the boxes painted in, so the original text is gone from them.
What about pages I did not mark?
They are copied unchanged and keep their selectable text.
Does it remove metadata?
No. Use the PDF Metadata Editor to strip author and title information.
