UUID Generator

Generate random v4 or time-ordered v7 UUIDs in bulk.

About this tool

A UUID is a 128-bit identifier that is practically unique without needing a central authority. Generate up to a thousand at once as version 4 (fully random) or version 7 (starts with a timestamp, so database indexes stay efficient). Format them as uppercase, without hyphens or wrapped in braces.

How to use it

  1. Choose v4 or v7 and how many you need.
  2. Pick formatting options.
  3. Click Generate and copy the list.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between v4 and v7?

v4 is entirely random. v7 begins with a millisecond timestamp, so values sort by creation time, which suits database primary keys.

Can two UUIDs collide?

The chance is so small it is ignored in practice. A v4 UUID has 122 random bits.

Are they cryptographically random?

Yes, they use your browser's secure random generator.
